Biographie

About

Félicie d’Estienne d’Orves is a visual artist. Born in Athens in 1979, the artist's primary medium is light, and her installations seek to interrogate the conditioning of our gaze and the essence of our perception. Her research is focuses on defining the limits of physical and cosmological space through light and its velocity. 

In 2022, the Lieu Unique in Nantes presented her inaugural monographic exhibition in France, entitled 'Soleils martiens', followed by a solo show at the Abbaye de Maubuisson in 2023. She has also been commissioned to create permanent works, such as for the Parc des Expositions station as part of the Grand Paris Express and in Leuven (Belgium) as part of the New Patrons programme.

Her work has been presented at the Centre Pompidou, Le Centquatre 104, La Fab Agnès b (Paris), Le Fresnoy Scène nationale (Tourcoing), the Van Gogh Foundation (Arles), State Studio (Berlin), Watermans Arts Center (London), Sonic Acts (Amsterdam), Ars Electronica (Linz), New Art Collection, Iberdrola Foundation (Spain), Elektra Festival (Montreal), Day For Night (Houston), OCAT (Shanghai), New Media Gallery (Vancouver), etc.
